The maker

Geologist, Dog Mom, and Rambler making earthen wares for your next adventure!

As an endless creative and daydreamer, I started preserving my most fond memories of exploration, play, and joy in tangible, evergreen art. I created Mountain Goat Geo as a space to share the art, process, and stories that resonate with others who set out to find joy and calm amidst the pressures of the daily grind.

I intend for each piece to enable creating a life full of art and community, empower you to exist outside of the 9-5 hustle, and be a reminder to chase life's adventures no matter how big or small!

Each piece is handmade, limited-batch, and beautifully imperfect! Please reach out with any questions or to discuss a custom collaboration!

The journey

Along the way

Metalsmithing

It started with fire...

I took my first metalsmith class (and made my first ring!) while in evacuation for the Caldor Fire. This class kicked off my creative journey with silver, and Mountain Goat Geo was born!

Lapidary

Geologist's inspiration

As time went on and I set stones from so many lapidary artists, I couldn't help but wonder if I could cut my own stones. I sourced a rock saw and lapidary wheels and self-taught myself how to cut cabochons. This was a full circle moment for me as a geologist-- what do you mean I get to work with rocks like this?!

Illustrations

Curiosity in the Wildflowers

When you stare at the ground long enough looking for rocks, you can't help but to notice the amazing ecosystem right underneath your feet! I always loved the illustrative look of black-and-white, pen-on-paper sketches, so I endeavored to immortalize my wildflower and creature observations in ink prints and stickers.

Ceramics

Playing with mud

The time came where I moved away from the mountains and to a metropolis of concrete and skyscrapers for a job opportunity, and with that I left my metal and lapidary workshop behind (temporarily, if I can help it!). In the search for another way to play with dirt in the city, I found a pottery studio and am now dreaming up ways to record my adventures in mud and fire them into stone.

Workshops

I hope that Mountain Goat Geo can be a place of community and learning someday soon--follow along on the journey to see any developments here!
